WAYZATA
OUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT!
I love Wayzata - that’s why I chose to live here over 25 years ago. I fell in love with its charm, its natural beauty and most importantly, its people. Our little city has gone through some big changes recently and I’m proud to have been serving our community in numerous capacities over the last eight years while many of those changes were happening.
Growth and change are inevitable for communities like ours. We just need to do our best to steer, manage and control that growth as much as possible. And when challenges arise or decisions are questioned, we need to address those as well - respectfully and thoughtfully - as a community.
Let’s face it, elections are an easy time for people to point out everything they feel is wrong with our community. But I believe there’s been a lot of good things accomplished. I believe there’s even better things ahead for our great city and I believe I have the experience and the thoughtful approach to take us further down that path.
Right now, the importance of sound local government cannot be overstated. Resident needs must be acknowledged and addressed alongside the demands of our rapidly changing community.
The Quality of Life Survey revealed that 98% of residents surveyed rate their quality of life as good or excellent. 89% said Wayzata is generally heading in the right direction. As mayor, I’ll ensure Wayzata’s future remains bright by prioritizing:
Respectful, responsive leadership
1
The best leaders take time to listen, ask questions, and lead thoughtfully. That’s how I’ve conducted myself in business, as a city councilman and how I’ll continue to serve in this new role.
Safety and prosperity for Wayzata’s residents, businesses, and visitors
2
Many people make up this community. As we implement the current strategic plan for future development, I will ensure that property owners’ and taxpayers’ best interests are always accounted for.
Protection and preservation of our natural resources and public parks
3
Our lakes and parks are central to the charm and character of Wayzata. I want to make every effort to keep them vibrant for decades to come.
